So it's been 2 weeks since i got on that train in Boston. No regrets here. I do miss courtney and friends in Boston.....I haven't had a chance to post the pics from my trip on here, but i did on facebook, it's just easier. So here's the link the the album, have fun checking them out.
Sacramento is pretty cool. It's really easy to get around on a bike, everything is set up on a grid for the most part and there are bike lanes! imagine that! The weather is amazing, it's rained a bit but apparently that was the first time in months. The weather has a very mediterIranean feel to it. I've been swimming in the American River a lot too, it's awesome. There are little specks of fools gold in the sand and it looks awesome when the sun hits it.
I've come across a few promising jobs and some not so great jobs. I guess I'll take what I can get for now. REI and Sac State are looking promising.
Billy and Courtney have been very generous and I am forever grateful. I only hope that i will someday be able to reciprocate the love they have given me.
Wish me luck on my job search!

chicago to denver........
So I got to spend about 5 hours in Chicago yesterday and I have to say it's a pretty nice place. It is a big city but oddly enough, unlike boston, people look at you kindly and talk to you too! The first thing i did after getting off in chicago was to find a locker to ditch my carry on bags into. After that i headed into the city to try and find some decent breakfast. the food on the train is not so good.....I went to a little greasy spoon diner that claimed to be americas number 1 breakfast called lou mitchells. it was pretty good but it's no sorellas! god i love those oatmeal chocolate chip pancakes!
After I had some food in my gullet my next mission was to find the giant shiny bean that cdunc had told me about. I found that and some other really cool sculptures, check them out:
i cant upload anymore pics because the connection is too weak, i'll put them up asap!
After boarding the train in chicago i had the pleasure of sitting next to an old woman named june who spent her entire 2 hour trip talking to me about he family and life. it was pretty interesting. she made sure my parents knew i was going to cali and that i should respect them. then she gave me a bible. lol she reminded me a bit of my grandmother we call mom mom, but a lot less crazy.....
The ride last night was a lot more exciting than the first night. I hung out in the lounge and had a couple drinks with some people. we mostly talked about politics, love, ourselves, made wine art on the table, listened to nicole from canada play grateful dead and beirut on her mandolin, listened to andre from ukraine explain to us that he wanted a wife and a soul mate, but not all in one person, and matt from denver confided his trust fund baby status and bought rounds for everyone. all in all it was a good night and i hope there are people as interesting on the train tonight!
pulling out of denver now, i smell like coffee because i thought i was going to miss my train and ran into a door the wrong way and exploded my delicious large coffee all over myself. oh well it was a brown sweatshirt, could be worse. i have clothes to change into. and after all that, i was more than early for the train.........no darjeeling limited slow motion train boarding this time......
la tout l'heure.....

carry on my wayward son.....
So here I go, my cross country train trip is underway. It all happened so quick that I'm still trying to actually believe that I'm moving to California. It's so exciting! Everything fell into place right up until the last moment. I couldn't of done it without my Mother and Courtney and her family's help, Thank You! I feel as though i am fulfilling some American right of passage, a manifest destiny, a journey from east to west, in search of better weather, nicer people and a natural environment that I have been told for my entire life will amaze me. The rock climbing mecca of America.....Inspired by the likes of Edward Abbey, Jack Kerouac, Carlos Castenada, Woody Guthrie, Bob Dylan..........
I will certainly miss a couple people back in Boston:
Courtney: my best friend, lover, companion. always positive, always supportive. the nicest person i have ever known. I love you!
Nick: I am so fortunate to have worked and played with this guy! if it weren't for him i surely would have lost my mind. Endless nights in the gym climbing, joking, drooling over climbing porn and gear. Thank you for sharing your place in Cathedral with me and for climbing with me! First 5.10 trad lead was with you! I'll come back and hit up the barber with you, promise!
Matt: you are a good friend, and the most psyched climber i have ever had the privilege of climbing with. your enthusiasm is infectious! I hope your hand heals well and quickly so you can continue to pull hard! Come to Cali!
Courts Fam: Thank you so much for all your help and support! I'll see you soon!
Scouter: The best dog in the world, i miss you buddy! sorry i had to leave you again. you'll be coming to Cali soon!!
Things i won't miss in Boston: asshole bosses, mean people, crazy drivers, loud trains and busses outside my window, rain, dumpster juice, puke on crosswalks, traffic, 54 hour work weeks, not climbing, boston bros, beantown hoes, dirty bums, ukrainian roommates, paprika poisoning,
So here I go! All my goodbyes are behind me and I'm heading west! I'll try to update this as i roll along the tracks. There isn't any wifi on the train, but i've got my trusty htc fuze to help me get on the interwebs. Tons of legroom in here, gotta love that.
I'll finish this with a picture i took yesterday:

Windows Mobile Google Voice App
So I just finally got my invite to Google Voice and its awesome! Kinda.....if you call my google number, which is 603 466 7317. That's right, I got a New Hampshire #. So what I need is an app for my ATT Fuze that will allow me to not only receive calls to my google # but also allow me to make calls with that number. So that when I call people my google number is my caller ID.
I played around with the voicemail transcription and successfullly asked myself to a movie via VM and got in texted to me fairly accurately. Its also sweet that i can block callers and screen callers. Take a look to the left there, you can call me from by blog now!!!
